AWB had their first STEM Outreach for the year 2022 when the team visited Premiere Academy, Lugbe Abuja for the maiden edition of their Technology Day on 29th January, 2022.
The National Coordinator of AWB, Ms Olayinka Fagbemiro who was the Guest Speaker at the event commended the school for coming up with the program which provided an opportunity for the participants, comprising of pupils of Premiere Academy and other invited schools to have a first hand experience of a career talk in Tech.
The pupils displayed some of their Tech Projects which were very impressive. There was a Tech competition among the invited schools which saw kids display their knowledge of Technology.
The National Coordinator of AWB in her speech encouraged the pupils to follow their passion in Tech. She reiterated the need for schools across Nigeria to put more efforts into encouraging young kids to take up interest in Tech.
“In the effort to bridge the gap that currently exists in STEM in Africa, all stakeholders need to come up with more ingenious ways of making STEM more fun for kids”
The AWB team displayed some Astronomical hardware for the pupils to see. Also, there was a Solar gazing session with telescopes and solar glasses.
The AWB team was happy to have impacted the kids a great deal and look forward to more collaborations with the school.
